The school leadership at St Mary's continually looks to improve the quality of learning and teaching provided for the children here at school. Following thorough self-evaluation the school has identified the following areas as school improvement priorities.
School Improvement Areas
- To continue to improve attainment and progress in mathematics for all pupils.
- To further develop and refine system of assessment to enable school to check pupils’ learning, ascertain whether pupils are on track to meet age related expectations (ARE) and report regularly to parents.
- To raise standards in writing so that the proportion of children attaining age related expectations is at least in line or above the local and national averages.
- To increase the percentage of Year 1 children who achieve the phonics standard, to be at least in line with, or above the national average.
