The children were treated to a very special visit by author, Sibéal Pounder, on Wednesday morning.
She was truly inspirational. She spoke to the children about how she generated her ideas for writing witch stories and how she planned and wrote them. She also told them all about her future plans and forthcoming books.
She told the children that she wasn’t the best student in English and grammar at school, in fact she found those subjects difficult. But she did work really hard to improve; that is a fantastic message for our children.
In her assembly, she asked the children to help her to compose a new witch story and persuaded Miss Hesketh to dress up as the newly created witch character, Liverpudlian Purple Apple, in the retelling of the story. The children found Miss Hesketh’s ‘Gangsta’ walk and ‘Scouse’ accent very entertaining.
