Sacramental Classes Information

For the second year running, despite the Covid Crisis postponing the usual Sacramental Programme for 2020/2021, the Y4 children have been able to take their first Holy Communion.

This is thanks to Kinga who conducted classes via Zoom and then when restrictions allowed, she and Mrs O’Neil continued classes in school.  It is thanks to their and Fr Marsden's commitment and determination that made it possible for this group of children to take this important step in their faith journey. Thanks also to the parents and families for their support and encouragement. There have been some lovely messages of support and thanks.

Over the first two weekends of June 2021, the Y4 children were able to take their first Holy Communion at St Mary's Church and then on the afternoon of 15th June, the children wore their First Communion outfits and had a small celebration together in class; they toasted the end of their sacramental programme with a cup of squash and a small cake. Kinga brought each child a beautiful First Holy Communion certificate and an ornate crucifix as a special commemorative gift from St Mary’s Church to mark their special day. Tempest photographers came in to take an official record of the 2021 St Mary’s Sacramental Class.
