Welcome to St Mary's nursery - a well-established nursery in the centre of Chorley.

About our nursery

St Mary’s nursery is a vibrant, happy, friendly pre-school class catering for children from the age of 3. We offer term-time nursery care in a teacher-led learning environment, with highly-trained and experienced early years staff.

Our nursery is in a friendly classroom environment, where children get to engage, play and learn together.

The nursery includes a separate quiet reading room for children to sit and enjoy exploring a range of books. There is also free-flow access to the dedicated outdoor areas and garden for the nursery class.

Nursery sessions

Our nursery is open Monday to Friday from 8:45am to 3:15pm. Nursery sessions are term-time only (38 weeks per year), with dates in line with the school calendar.

We offer full and half-day nursery sessions, with wrap-around care also available at our Breakfast and After School clubs.

We recommend our full day sessions to help your child to achieve their full potential.

Children are welcome to come with a packed lunch if you prefer.

Drinks and snacks

The nursery children receive fruit, milk and water, free of charge throughout the day. You can also opt to order toast for your child which is delivered as a morning snack.

Breakfast and After School club for nursery children

Children who attend the nursery can also access our Breakfast and After School club on site which is staffed by qualified Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) staff.

Breakfast club is available from 7.30 am (Early Bird) or 7:45 a.m. and children are then taken into Nursery at 8:45 a.m.

The After School Club runs from 3:15 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. Children are escorted into the club by the nursery staff who also work in the club.

Nursery fees

You may be able to get up to 30 hours free childcare to cover the cost of your child attending nursery. This would cover a normal full school week at nursery. If your child is already attending another nursery or childcare setting, then these hours can be shared. You can find out more on gov.uk – 30 hours free childcare. Our team can help you with the process.

We also accept nursery vouchers and tax-free childcare payments.
