Chorley St Mary's SEND Local Offer
We understand that some children may experience greater difficulty in learning than others at some time during their school career. If this happens we will provide additional help and support.
The process for meeting children’s Special Educational Needs must be flexible so that all needs can be recognised and met. Other professionals such as those from the Health Service may be involved in supporting the child. The school employs the services of specialist teachers to offer support and advice and is also fortunate to have a wealth of specialist support already available from staff working in school.
The new Local Offer provides information about the support and care we are currently able to offer here at St Mary’s.
Our job is to help your child achieve the very best they can at school. You know your child best and you may feel that they need some additional help or support for some or all of their time at school.
What is the Local Offer?
The Government have listened to what parents say their experience of services is like and have put in place a number of things to bring about improvements. One of these is the Local Offer.
Local authorities and other services will set out a local offer of all services available to support children who are disabled or who have SEN and their families. This easy-to-understand information for parents and young people will set out what is normally available to help children with lower-level SEN, as well as the options available to support families who need additional help to care for their child
The Council for Disabled Children have provided information and advice on the Local Offer. This helps identify what should be included in the 'Local Offer' – and helps parents recognise if their local offer includes everything it should.
