Mrs Banwell & Mr Cahalin organised a Maths and Science week for the whole school focusing on STEM careers.

On Monday, we had a fantastic assembly given by the company Mad Science and on Tuesday each class held their own STEM fair presenting their science projects.  We had some amazing presentations and a big well done to the children for engaging so well.

On Wednesday, Mr Smyth shared his interest in being an astronaut. (However, please don't worry - his application was unsuccessful this time and he will be staying at St Mary's a while longer!)

Thursday included Zoom sessions discussing women in STEM.  During the week, we also had various parents dropping in to discuss their STEM careers with the children - thank you to all those adults for giving up their time for us.

On Friday we had careers research activity to see which careers the children might like to try when they are older.

Finally, a special assembly was held to award certificates for the best fair entries from each class.

The whole week was a great success and it was lovely to see how inspired the children were - good luck to our future STEM trailblazers!
